The XV Film Festival: Childhood and Adolescence -2024, is a festival with spaces for circulation and audiovisual training for children, adolescents and young people, with exhibitions, recreational activities, workshops, panels and discussions, whose main objective is to promote Bogota as a pioneer city in Latin America in terms of a visible, protagonist and full of rights childhood and adolescence through audiovisual construction. Participation is free of charge to the activities of exhibition and circulation of audiovisual content.

The Contest will be held from September 7 to 13, 2024.

Children and adolescents will have access to an audiovisual program made up of national and international animation and fiction short films, television series and the "FESTICINE AWARD" category, which is given to audiovisuals made by Colombian children. They will be accompanied by playful activities of reflection on the thematic axis: "TERRITORIES OF KNOWLEDGE, BIODIVERSITY AND INCLUSION THROUGH FILM".

The winners will receive a STANDARD OR SPECIAL MENTION, and the exhibition of their work in the different spaces provided by the XV FILM FESTIVAL: CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS - 2024.

AUDIOVISUAL CALL FOR ENTRIES

XV FILM FESTIVAL: CHILDHOOD AND ADOLESCENCE - 2024

The CORPORACIÓN FESTIVAL DE CINE E INFANCIA Y ADOLESCENCIA, invites directors, directors and producers to participate with their audiovisual works, in the framework of the XV FILM FESTIVAL: INFANCIA Y ADOLESCENCIA - 2024, which will be held from September 7 to 13 in Bogota - Colombia. Modality: Presential and virtual.

The call aims to gather quality film production, both national and international, aimed at children and adolescent audiences, in the following categories:

CATEGORY: NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION

PROFESSIONAL AND AMATEUR IN COMPETITION

National and International Filmmakers

A. Best Short Film: Fiction
B. Best Animated Short Film
C. Television Series

The invitation to these two categories is open to all directors, filmmakers and producers, who may be individuals, legal entities or collectives.

CATEGORY: FESTICINE AWARD

This award is aimed at CHILDREN AND TEENAGERS, ages 6 to 12 and 13 to 17, who have an audiovisual work made by them in Colombia. In the following categories:

A. Best Short Film: Fiction
B. Best Animated Short Film

NOTE: Audiovisual works produced by children or adolescents, which are selected to be presented in the contest, must send the Organization a letter of authorization from their parents or legal guardians in order to participate in the XV FILM FESTIVAL: CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENCE - 2024.

NOTE: For these categories the duration is from 3 to 30 minutes (including credits).

THE SELECTED JURY WILL EVALUATE THE EIGHT CATEGORIES.

CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION

All audiovisual works made from JANUARY 2022 UNTIL MAY 2024 may participate in the competition.

By registering for the XV FILM FESTIVAL: CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS - 2024, the author grants free of charge the rights to exhibit the work within the framework of the event, without commercial purposes.

PROPOSED TOPIC FOR THIS CALL

THEMATIC AXIS FOR THE 2024 VERSION, IN ANY OF THE CATEGORIES:

"TERRITORIES OF KNOWLEDGE, BIODIVERSITY AND INCLUSION THROUGH FILM".

Short films that deviate from the theme established for this version will NOT be submitted for selection.

REGISTRATION PROCESS
Short films will only be accepted through the following platforms:

Fill out the EXHIBITION RIGHTS LICENSE at the Festival (In case of being selected).

Failure to submit any of these requirements will void the application.
The submission of the work implies the acceptance of all the rules of the contest.

REQUIREMENTS TO SUBMIT YOUR SHORT FILM

 Technical specifications, synopsis and two posters of the film in jpg at 300 dpi.
 The audiovisual work must be sent with the following specifications: Full HD resolution (1920x1080). MOV or MP4 container in both cases with H.264 CODEC.

REMARKS

 The cost of sending the audiovisual material in any of its formats to - XV FESTIVAL DE CINE: INFANCIA Y ADOLESCENCIA - 2024, will be paid by the participant.

 NOTE: Audiovisual works submitted to the - XV FESTIVAL DE CINE: INFANCIA Y ADOLESCENCIA - 2024, will only be received in Spanish or subtitled in Spanish.

 will NOT receive material in analogous formats.

CLASSIFICATION AND EVALUATION PROCESS:

 The XV FESTIVAL DE CINE: INFANCIA Y ADOLESCENCIA - 2024, reserves the number of works that go to competition.

 The curatorial team, designated by the Festival, will nominate the selected works that will go to the official competition.

 A jury composed of recognized national and
international experts in the audiovisual, arts and culture, will deliberate on the works in competition.

 The jury's decision is final.

 The short films not selected will go to the archive of the CORPORACIÓN FESTIVAL DE CINE E INFANCIA Y ADOLESCENCIA.

 The screening will take place in suitable venues and with all the necessary equipment.

 The selected short films will go on to the official competition. They must fill out an EXHIBITION RIGHTS LETTER, to be presented in the programming of the XIV FILM FESTIVAL: CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS - 2024.

 The final result of the jury in the different categories will be published on the official website of the XIV FILM FESTIVAL: CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS - 2024. (www.fcicbogota.com)

 One award will be given for each category in competition.

 In the event that the works submitted in any category do not meet the technical, aesthetic or treatment requirements of the XV FILM FESTIVAL: CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS - 2024 for its competition, the jury is free to declare this category void.

 El Festival de Cine: Infancy y Adolescence is part of the list of Automatic Stimuli of the FDC - CNACC, which has resources destined to the accompaniment of films in festivals in Colombia. For the Colombian case, the value of the support is up to $1,800,000.COP
